The One That Got Away, 2024 Cooperation Project with Anker Bak

Cooperation Project with Anker Bak

‘When people tell about their latest flame, I always get so excited: ‘The insight of Dalai Lama, a twist like Elvis’ and the radiation of a young Bridget Bardot!’ - Then, when you actually meet The One…'

The design process of a teapot is as compound as the shape itself: Body, sprout, handle, lid – not to mention the requirements for function.

I am not a ceramic production thrower. If anything, I am a sculptor. The One that got Away began as an offspring of a Pug Dog Project – Shaken with a fascination of the curling stone. Stirred by the Korean concept Nunchi, which in short signifies the subtle art and ability to listen and gauge others’ mood.

The road is long. And the prototypes might seem more imaginative than the final product. But this was The One that got Away with me (and I do hope I can find it again…)

Thanks to Morten Løbner Espersen for a critical eye in the process
